How I Use Basis
This is the companion to Why Basis, the essay on why I built it. That one is the argument; this one is the practice.
I'm writing this up in more detail. In the meantime, the short version:
- Capture into Inbox. Anything I want to remember goes here first, tasks and notes both. No thinking about placement.
- Process on my own rhythm. Actionable items become tasks with a date, priority, and project. Reference material becomes notes filed into notebooks.
- Review weekly. I look at my open tasks, upcoming dates, and starred notebooks to make sure nothing important is drifting.
- Focus on today. The Today view with the Focus section is where I actually work. Everything else stays out of the way.
Full walkthrough coming soon. If you'd like a note when it's published, subscribe via the RSS feed or email me at hello@thebasis.app and I'll ping you.
